Go ahead and install it on the car, then take it to a muffler shop and have them just weld the exit pipes to the nuts that go into the upper HEs. They can probably do this for you for $25. This will cure the leak, and you can throw away the nuts, pipes and the rest of the muffler in a few years when the muffler rusts out If they are just careful not to weld the nuts to the HE, there will be no more difficulty salvaging the HEs a few years down the road. I really don't think that you'll be successful otherwise. Now it's possible that the person who installed them used some anti-seize in there which will help you, but that's a long shot. - Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
