If you lose a bid this way, it's because you didn't bid what it's really
worth to you. Often I'm one of those last-minute guys, and here's why:
inexperienced bidders get emotionally involved in the game, and will often
bid far beyond what the thing is worth just so they don't 'get beat'. I save
the bid to the last minute, everyone's had a chance to set their price, and
I bid my real price. If someone else really wants it for more and is playing
straight, they get it, no fussin' around.

=> some of these folks will turn around and
=> list the items they just bought for higher
=> reserve prices....

That's commerce; what's the problem?

I've only been ripped off once on Ebay, when the seller knowingly and
egregiously misrepresented the condition of a set of wheels, so I paid about
half again as much as they could have been worth. After he wouldn't settle,
that's the only negative feedback I've ever had to write. Never buy anything
substantial from a low-feedback seller.

=> the dreaded "shill" bidders

Again, bid your real price and this will never be a problem. In the rare
cases where this comes up, it's to hook emotional newbies.

How about we get back to Typ 3s?
