If you haven't drained it, from what > do you conclude that it's overfull? > I've been thinking about this (obviously), and have a theory that might explain all of the problems that I've been having recently. I'm not sure how realistic this Unified Theory is: Some time ago my right hand carburetor was leaking from the base. I tightened up a screw and the leak went away. It mostly leaked after the engine was switched off. Is it possible that the petrol that was leaking out the base is now leaking into the engine? Could this leak also explain why my right hand carb runs permanently rich? The only problem (as of now) with this theory is that the oil that I drained didn't smell of petrol. Someone with more experience than me would probably be able to tell just by looking at it. I don't believe that even I'm daft enough to overfill the oil by that much. It was WAY over, so something must be leaking into the engine, and I can't think of any other explanation than something along the lines of the one above. Finally, I noticed that there is a big tear in the rubber part of my oil filler tube. Does anybody have one?
