The one I installed on my car was black plastic painted silver. It was brand
new. The paint was so thin that it came off under the pressure of my thumb
as I pressed it in. I repainted it using silver plastic model paint. I
couldn't believe how low quality it was, as it was made in Germany by SWF.
When you consider that the original part had a shiny metal cover, it shows
how far standards have fallen over the years.
