> But lets consider pricing our cars, what is your cars value to you? I've had my '71 Variant for about 10 years, during which time it has had negligible depreciation from its purchase price of £2000 ($3000). It has done what I need, with more style (IMO) than a £10,000 ($15,000) car, which would now be worth about £1,000 ($1500). It has cost virtually nothing in repairs, has been cheaper to insure, and has been as economical as I could reasonably expect a car to be. It has also made me numerous friends all over the world, which is impossible to place a value on. Depreciation and loss of interest on the money means by now a new car would have cost at least £13,000 ($20,000) more than using the Variant has. I could argue my (RHD) Variant is worth $20,000 to me, as it will save me that much over the next 10 years too! BTW I assume the Australian car on Samba is priced in US dollars, not Aus$ (not looked yet). Dave.
