Re: [T3] Over priced ? or perhaps just rightly priced?

I've had my '71 Variant for about 10 years, during which time it has had
negligible depreciation from its purchase price of £2000 ($3000). It has done
what I need, with more style (IMO) than a £10,000 ($15,000) car, which would now
be worth about £1,000 ($1500). It has cost virtually nothing in repairs, has
been cheaper to insure, and has been as economical as I could reasonably expect
a car to be. It has also made me numerous friends all over the world, which is
impossible to place a value on.
Depreciation and loss of interest on the money means by now a new car would have
cost at least £13,000 ($20,000) more than using the Variant has. I could argue
my (RHD) Variant is worth $20,000 to me, as it will save me that much over the
next 10 years too!

BTW I assume the Australian car on Samba is priced in US dollars, not Aus$ (not
looked yet).
