I think the potential problem here is that the old system probably has 6mm ID brake hose, while the tandem cylinder will expect 8mm ID hose. If you could find a Tee that would accept the 6mm hose in from your old reservoir and 8mm out to the 2 tandem input nipples, then this should be straightforward. I think I've seen such items available in plastic (perfect for brake fluid) and I might even have one here. The lack of a split MC reservoir is only a minor problem, as a normal system usually doesn't need much fluid from the line.
