These nuts connect the rear of the transmission to the car (via the carrier, via the frame horns) The transmission is still held at the front, and indirectly by the axle tubes which connect to the flexible trailing arms. Another thing is the motor mounts to the tranny, so if the tranny can flop around so can your motor! (I'm assuming this is swing axle...)
