<x-charset windows-1252>Peter - A couple of things to consider. I fought some carb problems on my trip to and from Parma. In one case I had the float needle valve vibrate loose and nearly fall out of the top of the carb cover. This caused a fuel starvation problem since the float bowl was not filling all the way up. In my case it was really obvious, but it might be something to check. I also developed a slight miss and lack of power on my trip from Russ's to my parents' place. Turns out the small brass pick-up tube that is pressed into the top of the carb and reaches down into the bottom of the float bowl had come out and was laying in the bottom of the bowl. 8^( Another thing to check when you have the carb cover off. You might also check the electomagnetic shut-off valve and make sure it is functioning and is securely installled. I have had these come loose and had one fail on the trip to Parma. This has usually resulted in a pretty poorly running car though. HTH. Between all of that and the main jet access plug coming loose (All on the left carb, btw), maybe I should consider upgrading to F.I. 8^) Later, John Jaranson '71 FI Auto Fasty (Jane) '66 Square (Sophy) About Half a Late Square (Organ Donor) http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jaransonT3/jaransonT3/ (This is the new address for my website) ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/ </x-charset>
