Re: [T3] Please keep this the Greatest VW list

Hey everybody, glad to see Greg M. back at the helm of
the list, things got just a *tad* outta control as the
temperature seemed to rise in some of the posts. I
have an observation to make, maybe just a little to
the side of being on-topic but still...What's with
some of the "new" (maybe read as "younger") crowd with
the seemingly microwave tempers? Just look at some of
the "Come on down and I'll kick your (whatever)" posts
recently. I went to the local Tower Shops Friday
night cruise where the weather kept most of the older
street rod crowd away and the parking lot was full of
over the top imports and posturing youths handing out
cards that said "Your Car Sucks!!", honestly. The cops
were in heavy attendance as well and told most of
these guys to close the hoods and doors and scram. I
was almost sure that fighting would break out, all
over a couple of stupid cars. Then, I went to a VW
show over the Invasion weekend with Jake Kooser (the
jones came down hard that weekend, don't you know) and
it was all brand new VW's heavy on the horsepower,
young studs walking pit bulls around the crowd and
talking smack. We were in and out in about 20 minutes.
I don't know, my wife swears that it's just another
sign of my impending old-fogeyness but I just don't
remember the attitudes being worn on the outside like
nowadays. Give me a nice, quiet, moderated Type 3 list
anyday. Keep those pictures coming, they're great.
Gotta go, the nurse is here with my medicine.
