I think it's the marvel. I did this about 10 years ago to an old chevy, and I think the smoke was very whitish from the Marvel. I PUT A H#LL of a lot of Marvel in the cyls to try and save those rings. I forgot it might take more than a couple seconds to go away. I will go through valves and timing one more time, and let her rip a while tonight. I doubt this is FI related now, delivery seemed cool.
