Perhaps then it is all the Mystery Oil I pumped into the cyls before hand turning the engine several dozen times before allowing the starter to ever do so. Compression can be felt, I will measure it soon formally (trying to get her warm). Maybe I just didn't run it long enough then, blaming other systems and shutting her down, as I don't like running engines at all until Im certain things are right, especially new ones (which of course this is not). This is my first yank it out of the garage and try to make it run after years project.... I thought oil smoke is blueish grey, and watercooled cars white smoke is pure water from head or intake gaskets, balck is rich but burning, and white on an FI VW might be totally unburnt fuel? Thanks, input helping..... Al >>>>>White smoke is NOT fuel; it is oil.
