Lori, it sounds like it could be a good deal being that close to you, and it never hurts to look (ask Erick who just got a notch). Things to look for(rust) are the bottom rear of both front fenders, floor pans (right rear is common as the battery lives there and nobody sells new replacement ones), damp carpet (front air box drains possibly plugged), poping out of gear (a sign that trans might be going), pulling either left or right (brake dragging/low tire pressure),and some other things I've probably forgotten by now. Basically take it for a drive and see if it fits you, and what kind of karma it gives off, as that'll tell you if its the car for you. I only say that as I've had a squareback, a fastback(my wife's car now), and a notchback with a sunroof, along with several bugs and they all seem to give off different vibes, and have/had their own quirks. I hope this helps you out. Bob 65 Notch S w/ Sunroof ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
