[T3] Life after parma........boring........

<x-flowed>

Well, the DDB group made it home last night , very uneventfully...

We left on Friday morning...8 cars , I had opted to tow my fastback on a dolly with my Ford Ranger, The Ranger was loaded down with Swap parts, Spare Parts, Camping gear,tools,food and a Kayak too!

Our trip to Parma was a hard one as we had two break downs..

Our first issue was a 73 automatic square...the drive plate broke !
So I unloaded my car and we loaded up the square (backwards)
Well we tied the steering wheel to the pedals (the stering lock was broken) and we thought we were off >!>!>??!
As the truck gained speed the square started to sway side to side , gaining more and more velocity after !! Then it happened the square came around the truck and swung it in a circle ( right on the Highway)as this was happing in front of my eyes all i could think of was my truck flipping over or the tow dolly comeing off and flipping the square over...The truck came to a rest facing traffic!

We got the truck to the shoulder of the highway and deceided to undoe the Cv's and turn the car around...thankfully Erick (from Seattle ) was buzzing by us and stoppped ...he had the CV scoket tool ( hoorayy)

Got the car loaded...had a breif encounter with 3 state troopers , who couldnt figure out why there were all these VW were here.

Also while this happened another person needed to get gas and went on ahead to the next stop, as he pulled into the gas station his oil cooler blew out, oil everwhere.

Low and behold , I had a extra cooler in my parts stash! and we were only 2 blocks from a VW shop , where we got the cooler seals..(if you ever brake down in Pendelton OR...go find Obie's for help).
As we asked for the seals, he said he had already heard about us as we were making quite a stir...noboby had seen that many t3's in years !
