Is that what you are speaking about? A friend of mine made a Type 1 outa a Type 3 by placing a cap on one hole and replacing the adapter with a Type 1 adapter. The Type 1 simply has the oil cooler mounted vertically, while the Type 3 has it mounted horizontally. In addition, theres a hole to plug up when making a Type1 engine outa a Type 3. And there's the oil filler spout. That's it. I wouldn't have believed it either, if I hadn't seen it.
