<x-charset iso-8859-1>Well, thanks to Per for all his dedicated work! My baby is now sitting level!! She needs new bushings since the urethane Sway-A-Way ones are a bit worn and squeeky-squeeky. Per said he uses the VW ones and loves 'em. I *may* hit Les Schwab and replace the 195/60 rear tires with 65-series for better highway cruising. Martin came over and helped with the carbs. Brian Fye was on the phone as well, doin' the long-distance assistance :) No intake leaks but it seems the idle jets are still too big at 60. I am gonna have to take off the exhaust, again!, and use the liquid copper gasket on both sides of the copper exhaust gaskets to insure there are no exhaust leaks -- sigh. Still getting the back-explosion at idle but, sitting in the driveway, no bad noise at constant rpm or acceleration. Tonight will be the actual driving test for back-fire. So, Per and I are ready car-wise. Toby Erkson '72 VW Squareback -- big engine, rag top, 5-speed, etc. '95 VW Jetta GL III -- P-Chip, Jamex suspension, etc. '81 Gold Wing -- stock, no touring gear!
