Valve adjustment and timing are the FIRST things you should have checked.

It may just be oil burning off something.

It might be running extremely rich because the charging system regulating 
voltage is low.

Extreme idling in a FI type 3 indicates that certain parts of the FI are working 
properly, but that your idle is set too high.
