I once read the muir book, and used to warm it up like he says... until somebody explained it all too me. Then it all made sense :-) My Subaru has 240,000 on it, which consists of pulling out of the end of my road into heavy traffic travelling at speed. It only been running for about 60 seconds when I pull out, and I usually rev up to about 4500 to get up to spped. It doesn't seem to have affected it reliability so far... but then it's a company car :-) Allan W :-) New Zealand 58 Beetle 70 "Fonzie" 70 Squareback ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Adney" <jadney@vwtype3.org> To: <type3@vwtype3.org> I think you're right on the money here. You just need to idle long enough to get the oil running everywhere, then the best way to warm up the engine is to drive it moderately. ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
