With Weber 34's I never give a shot of gas with the accelerator before starting the engine, this only seems to make it hard to start. Right as the engine starts, I gently press the accelerator and then hold the engine at a slightly higher rpm (whatever is smooth). I drive away when I have a smooth idle with no pressure on the accelerator.
