Hi, I have been having an ongoing problem with my car lacking power until its warmed up. I think this is a long shot, but could the elbow that connects the air cleaner to the air box/plenum(?) be to blame. My elbow is pretty roughed up with some electrical tape on one end and duck tape on the other. It looks like the inside of my hose ends are taped and I was thinking that as the car warms up, the tape softens/melts making a better seal. Total long shot. I only ask because I was checking the fuel pressure (a solid 30.5PSI, 72 FI) and had the air cleaner off to adjust the pressure regulator and the car idled fine but there was no throttle response (it's just habit to give the car a little gas when I turn it over) and i remember my FI beetle ran fine without the air cleaner. A long shot, but I thought it would be worthwhile to ask. As for my power problem, I have a friend with 72 Fastback and I am going to try to Swap the Pressure Regulator since that's the only aspect of the system I have yet to test. I think... :) Thanks. ===== all new and now with genuine meat by-products... http://www.machobeagle.com __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
