We all got a 10th digit starting in 70. Think of it like this: 140 2 100349 Where the 140 means type 1, version 4, year ending in zero. Second decade of this numbering system (I know, not really correct, but that's how I think of it. Think of the 60s as the first decade and then the 70s are the second decade.) 100349th car off the line in that model year. - Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
