Retorquing heads ...was (RE: [T3] Thermostat Help)


<x-charset windows-1252>I agree that in theory our engines should not need retorquing.  However, after checking my compression recently and seeing some disparity, I checked the torque on the studs under the valve covers and found one extremely loose and one other that was slightly loose.  Both took full torque again so I don't think it was a stud pulling loose, but I figured it would be worth a look anyway.

Besides, it is much easier to set the valves with the engine on the stand than in the car.  I am also going to check out the clutch.  I get frequent chattering during launch.  I also want to fix an exhaust leak and other things.
