That decribes the reversing light switch exactly. I got one in a VW show in the UK, but if the gearbox has a place for the usual switch, that's a much better place for it. I might put it in the Beetle at some time (which has the split case gearbox), but Simon's criticism of its action makes that look second best to the dash-mounted switch that I used years ago. Dave.
