>Here in the U.K. it would have been fixed and would be driving around the >streets. Why do you Americans want to break everything up? ( Sorry "part >out"). .........I think that's a very prejudicial and broad based opinion you have there, Simon. The people you refer to as wanting to "break everything up" are not really "Americans". That is a philosophy that some people base their actions on. I've seen rust free cars chopped into bits because the owner wouldn't restore it and was too tight fisted to sell it to someone else so they could do it. I've also seen people take what I would call a basket case, and weld more panels in it and spread more bondo, than any car deserves. This was observed all in the same city, here in the southwestern United States. I'm sure if you look a little closer to home, you'll find a few of both types there as well. Carefull where you throw your stones there, big fella. We are all here to help each other. It's just free will. If the man wants to or NEEDS to part out his car, that is his choice and I'm sure he doesn't appreciate being flamed over it. I lived in Eastern Canada for 27 years and I've seen and fixed far worse cars than this, but it ain't no fun. Sometimes you just have to accept the fact that some cars can be restored, but not without the help of those old rust-buckets to provide us the parts to do so.
