If all of your suspesion bolts, ball joints, arm assemblies are tight
and good , the easy answer would be to tighten the center bolt that
is above the steering box. This bolt is locked by a nut and you need a
stubby flatblade screwdriver to adjust it. To make it easier to access
the steering box , it is better to remove the spare tire well, just a
couple of screws. You can vary the play with this, I had almost 10
inches of play when I got the car now I have about a half inch.

While you are there check the grease/oil in there, for this I loosened
the center bolt and removed the 4 bolts holding the cover then I rotated the
cover, being careful not to rip the gasket, filled and put back to gether.
