No, the dipstick bottoms out at the bottom of the tube, where it meets with 
the cross tube that bends and mates to the case. That cross tube is even 
bulged out there to help center the dipstick. The "plug" isn't even a plug; it's 
a VERY loose fit in the dipstick tube.
