It is best if all 4 injectors are the same version. Black ones were used in 68-9
and have the last 3 Bosch digits 001. Yellow ones superceeded the black
ones in 70 and have the last 3 digits 007. Both styles originally came with
plastic caps over the nozzles which made the needles almost flush with the
end. The plastic caps can easily be removed, and this makes the needles
stick out. If this is the only difference, I wouldn't worry about it. If you have a
metal nozzle with a flush needle, then the needle is actually broken and
should probably be replaced.

Black ones have not been available new for many, many years.

The only fuel leaks that can be fixed are those thru a broken hose. Anything
else requires replacement.

They should have the Bosch logo and 10 digit part # on them, or they should
be replaced.

I think Leon found somewhere that could clean them if they are otherwise in
good shape, but in general this seems usually to be a waste of time. Leon
also found one place that did good rebuilds, everything else was junk.

I still have a few new yellow injectors available for $40 each.
