Your homemade pan gasket is not holding. When the tranny sits for any
length of time the torque converter drains back into the pan. This make
the oil level above the top of the pan, and the gasket is leaking. When
you start the car and drive it, the tranny fluid level gets put back
into the tranny and torque converter, and it stops leaking.

If you can't find a pan gasket let me know, and I will see if I can get
you one, and mail it to you. A company called ATP still makes them, but
not sure if they are available in South Africa.
