Ok, Jim, I am totally confused, let me say befuddled!
I have a 72 FI AT. I have the Bentley. I thought I took off both hoses?
Anway
Last night I went out to try to time it again and now it is worse. Here is
what I did, please
tell me what I am doing wrong!
First problem, throttle does not close all the way without pushing alittle.
Second problem, Bentleys says to adjust the throttle switch rotate it CCW
until you hear a click then 2deg further. Mine clicks when rotating CW but
not CCW. But I set it so there is a half second before hearing the click.
Closed throttle, set idle to around 950rpm's. Dwell at 49deg. Disconnected
hoses from ignition distributor (right?) plugged the hoses still connect to
the air intake dist (right?). Tried to set the idle to 950 but is would not
go above about 850rms. I set the timing to 5 BTDC connected hoses. Still
unable to adjust idle higher. Now it has no power at all top speed 30mph.
Do you see any errors?
Thanks a lot, sorry to make this so difficult,
