<x-charset iso-8859-1>Hi, I started & drove my (Topless) 68 F/B Auto for the first time over the Weekend. The project to chop off the roof has taken about 8 years (I have worked on the car intermittently.) The tranny & TQ were completely drained completely & new fluid (Dextron II) put in. The TQ seal on the gearbox was replaced & the tranny pan gasket was replaced with a home made paper gasket - (Trying to get an OE cork gasket in South Africa is like trying to find hens teeth). I filled the tranny with about 5 litres of fluid. The level was very high on the dipstick & the tranny leaked badly. At this stage I assumed it was overflowing due to the level being too high & did not look for the leak too carefully. I started the car about an hour later & ran it through the gears whilst still jacked up to get the fluid into the TQ. The car was then driven for about 5 Km & the level re-checked. It is still too high (Probably about ½ a litre too much). Whilst I was driving I stopped the car a few time & checked too see if it was leaking, but it was dry. The car has now stood for a few days in the garage & the tranny is dripping fluid again. Could it be overflowing somewhere or must I start going through the seals. If I need a full seal kit I will probably have to import it from the States which will be pricey the current rate of exchange.
