You will have to replace the MT flywheel and gland nut with the AT drive plate and gland nut, and grind away some of the bottom of the case to allow you to reach the bolts that attach the drive plate to the torque converter. You will also need to provide an attachment point for the AT vacuum modulator vacuum hose. If both engines were FI, then the easiest thing to do is to just swap the intake air distributors. You will also want to find the correct parts for the 72 FI. The 69 parts are different. You could use all the 69 parts, but you won't have the vacuum port you need. If you come up short on FI parts for either year I can probably help. - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
