<x-charset iso-8859-1>EEEK! Watch out with that oven cleaner, some of them don't like aluminum - or rather, they like aluminum (as a snack). Says it right on the easy-off can... There's a purple degreaser called "the right stuff" that I use from Discount Auto Parts that works really well and won't eat parts. NAPA also makes a product called "aluminum brightener" that's a mild acid that works really well for final cleaning of aluminum before painting. Spray oven cleaner is nicely aggressive with this stuff. I don't think I'd recommend it with the tranny in the car, though, as it'll take off any undercoating and it could damage your pan paint. Gunk makes some pretty good products too, although you'll still be under there with a scraper and greasy grit in your teeth, pretty likely.
