<x-flowed>You could test the injector to see what the spray pattern looks like. A way I found out to do this during my investigations of my engine problems is by removing the injector, not the intake manifold just the injector. I did this when the engine was cold so that I would not have to worry about gas fumes around a hot engine. I removed the injector and then with the key on, opened the throttle. When you open the throttle the throttle switch (black box on the right side of the throttle) will cause the injectors to fire. This switch performs the "accelerator pump" function, and should cause the injectors to fire a total of 20 times from full close to full open. You should be able to hear a "click" from each injector as it fires. >From my investigation on my 72, this does not cause all 4 injectors to fire, but only the two that were last set to fire, so if you hear a click coming from #1 injector and injector #2 does not fire, then swap the wires on #1 and #2, then #2 should fire. This should allow you to see the spray pattern of the injector, which should be a fine conical mist.
