I didn't remember this, but I know that the early AT levers came with a chrome cover plate that the late ones didn't get. The lights started in 71, but I think there is a pretty good chance that you could install the necessary parts in an early car with little difficulty. I haven't done this however. I'd certainly be tempted to add this to my 69. BTW, there's no reason to send your messages both to me and to the list.
