Re: [T3] 6 volt voltage regulator

I will be attaching a trailer to the car, and there is too much
> resistance in the trailers wiring for the lights to be bright.

Are the trailer lights struggling on the single earth return wire or are you
doubling up with the accessory (blue?) wire on the seven core?

I think mine only worked OK when I put in thicker wires for the lights and
even soldered the wires direct to the bulbs (no problem, you'll never blow
them anyway!). You need twice the cross section for the same power on
6-volts, and any loss is doubly bad. The flashers were never very
effective, but just safe enough. Some have used relays on the lights, but I
don't think they managed to get electro-mechanical relays working with
flashers.
It is possible to adjust the voltage sensing part of the regulator, but I've
not tried that. Maybe there's a spring to stretch tighter or something.
