After I shut it off from a long hard run, the pump relay does not want to kick back in. I have found that if I just crank the engine momentarily, the pump will work. This tells me that my trigger points are sticking open when the engine is hot. The way the system works, is that the pump relay circuitry is completed through the triggerpoints. This is how the control unit knows if the engine is turning over or not. I need to pull the distributor and clean the trigger point pivots. It only does it when the engine is hot. Also check the fuel screen in the bottom of the gas tank. Mine used to stall quite regularly, until I finally replaced the gas tank wit one with no rust in it. -- Russ Wolfe '71 Fastback AT '66 Fastback MT (not running yet) russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
