While the OE mirrors all had the same shape glass (68-73) the 
passenger sides all have a longer stem to put them in a useful 
position. There also appear to have been 2-3 different 
manufacturers for these mirrors because the metal parts (in front of 
the glass) come in various styles, which I think you've noticed.

I don't THINK any of the OE type 3 mirrors came with the black 
retainer gasket; all the ones I have seen were kind of 
translucent/clear. There certainly were aftermarket ones, but it's 
hard to tell by now which were originals and which have been 
replaced.
