While this dizzy was the best choice years ago, it seems to be out of favor now. I don't know much about it, but you might consider talking to John Connelly about what the problem is with it. In fact, I think John reads this list now, so it would probably be best if he would just tell all of us. I know that he has a special dizzy that he makes up that most people agree works better. > Today's work was trying to turn off the heat in the right heater > box. The 2 wires on the replacement cables are 2 different lengths. In order to install these correctly, you have to feed the long one in the correct tube at the brake lever. I have to look up which tube (upper or lower) the long wire goes in, but I've always found that it is NOT the way that the wires seem to naturally come out of the lever end crimp. If you put the cable in the wrong way you will find that you can get 1 end to work and the other one will be way too long (or was it short?) Anyway, this might be what happened to yours. I've never seen set screw ends, but maybe this is the answer to my desire to make heater cables someday with stainless steel wire. ;-) - Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
