The light front end is affected by sidewinds, but it's not normally all that
bad on a Type 3.

What pressure is in the tyres - should be 17 to 20 psi (which sounds very
low, but is correct for 165X15 tyres).  Too high a pressure makes it more
skittish on the front.

If they are OK, pull outwards and push inwards on the top of the wheel.  If
it moves a lot, the upper bar that ties the two upper torsion arms has
probably slipped out of adjustment.  On the left side of the car there is a
clamping screw with a taper that tightens into a countersunk hole in the
flat part of the bar.  The hole may have become elongated, or maybe the
screw is simply loose.  There is a locking nut around it too.  Once this is
sorted, the opposite end has a screw in it with a lock-plate; it needs
adjustment to remove remaining freeplay - avoid overtightening, and ensure
the lock-plate is effectively clamped around the screw head.

BTW I guess your sig. should say '68 Squareback (or some year) not '78?
