Sounds like the same ones I saw - originals only have 3 captive nuts but 6 holes; different 3 holes used each side. You have to weld into the right-angle formed with the backing plate. Less work than folding your own, but not pretty. The UK ones are pressed using wooden formers I understand (a traditional method for short production runs). I'll get a picture of them in case others are interested. Dave.
