Re: [T3] Old trailers

Erick,

I have both items you are looking for, however I'm not real excited to sell either one of them. For the right price though, who knows. If I still have them when its time for the invasion, I'll be bringing them along with me since it's only about 30 miles from my house.

The single wheel trailer you are referring to is most likely the "Allstate" brand that was carried by Sears in the 50's. You can check some of them out at <http://www.singlewheel.com/>. If you look at the Allstate page there, the one at the bottom of the page is mine. I got lucky and found one at an auction and bought it for the measly sum of $10. I had several people laugh at me, but I knew what I was getting. They come up for sale occasionally, but it's not too often.

As for the hitch, the one I have is a dealer accessory that mounts to the body where the bumper goes. It has two plates that go along with it to give it more strength. It sort of "hides" under the bumper and just the hitch itself where the ball goes sticks out. I have a picture of it at <http://www.deals.neil.org/images/hitch.jpg>. The extra plates are not shown in the picture. There is a part number on the tongue, but I can't even find the hitch in my garage right now to get the number. It is not a standard type 3 part number though. I found this one on eBay and paid around $20 for it.

Feel free to ask me more about them. I just got a new digital camera so I'll be able to take better pictures of them if anyone is interested.
