Thanks for the excellent guidance Keith. Now here's the deal. On my fuse box, the second to last terminal is SUPPOSED to have the #15 wire to coil on the feed side, and apparently a thick black ground wire. No such wire is there. Just the coil wire. And there's only one terminal on the feed end, so I cant easily hook up the voltage relay there. The voltage relay is, however, properly fused to the furthest right terminal, feed side, so I don't see that there should be a problem there. I get 12V in all positions, and when the car's off, it's off. Connection to the relay seems fine. This isnt an old connection, so I'm at a loss for what the problem is here. Haven't had a bad runon session lately, outside of a one cylinder firing after turning off the engine, which Jim said he was aware of as a problem that has baffled him for along time. He's used to one firing and then out. But not 9 or ten as I've been getting in the past. Big mystery. I'll keep you posted. -- Mike Wodkowski 72 SQBK Brooklyn wodkowski@mac.com on 9/2/01 9:14 PM, Keith Park at TopNotchResto@worldnet.att.net wrote: > OK, with Jim out of town here I go! > > Bentley, fuel system page 18, theres the main power relay for the FI, its > #12 but its hard to follow here so go to the wiring diagram for your whole > 72 car, hopefully its color. anywho, the relay is J16. #30 is the main B+ > feed and should always be 12V. 85 is ground and should always be 0, Term 87 > goes to 3 different wires ALL for the FI, one of which is the fuel pump > relay. #86 is the switching wire, in other words, when that terminal is 12V > then the FI system is ON and when its 0 the FI is off...
