And on the subject of "Type Codes", our list's "Type 3s" are not
the only Type 3s which Volkswagen have made. Using only the
two-digit codes here is a list of them:
Type 30 1978-1981 Brazilian 1600 Variant II (McPherson Struts,
CV- joint rear, square body, wide floorpan)
Type 31 1962-1973 German, Australian and South African notchback and
fastback
Type 32 1974-1980 Passat I (Dasher in US, Cosar in Mexico) and
1981-present Passat II (Quantum in US, Santana in
Brazil, China, Japan)
Type 34 1962-1969 Karmann-built 1500 and 1600 Karmann-Ghia coupe
Type 35 1962 1500 notchback cabriolet (only two prototypes remain)
Type 36 1962-1973 Variant or squareback
Are there any more?
