The parts list shows it was possible to order it on both RHD and LHD cars. I know a few ended up in the US which might point to Canada as one possible destination. I've seen only one E up close, a low mileage 64 Variant that was originally delivered to Singapore. I think they were most likely to have been ordered when a buyer requested deluxe trim in places where high octane fuel was hard to get. The Notches got a trim piece on the license light cover like the S's only with a letter E instead--it's not listed in the parts list but I've seen one up close before. Variants got a letter E that replaced the S and mounted using the same holes (part # 361-853-677). Interestingly, the parts list says M3 was also available on the Type 34, so I guess there might also have been 1500E Ghias. In any case, I think the real reason for the E scripts was just to fill the holes left by the S badging. Later the letter E reappeared in scripts as the designation for fuel injection. As Simon has pointed out, the model designations varied from country to country so it's hard to be sure of all the variations and where they were meant to be sold. Sorry for being so long-winded about such an obscure subject, everyone.
