Take a look at the rims and you will also > see the date stamp, inside a tiny 1/4 inch circle. I had to take my sender apart on my '66. It was froze solid. I don't know if it works yet, because I only put about a gallon of gas back in the tank. As for the safety rims, My '66 does NOT have them, and has radial tires on it. Hmmmm, it needs tires. I wonder if a person can still get 6.00 x 15 bias tires.
