There was another car on this list which had its calipers mounted on the 
wrong sides. This puts the bleed valves on the bottom where they do little 
good. Any chance yours are wrong, too?  

How about the parking brake? Does it work? Does it feel right? Engage it 
solidly (while parked) and THEN pump up the foot brake. Release the foot 
brake only, and then wait a minute. When you reapply the foot brake after a 
minute does the foot brake need to be pumped up again or does it get firm 
on the first stroke?  

I don't think there's anything you could have mis-connected on the MC that 
would cause this.
