<x-charset ISO-8859-1>Thinking waaaaaaay back when my baby still had FI, in order to start her she needed the pedal fully depressed. But I began driving her after her first rebuild so I don't know if she was like that in the very beginning. Actually, since the system isn't L-jetronic, it really doesn't matter. On my carbs, they require a pump or two, then crank. Another pump. Crank. Pump. Crank. Etc. When the engine finally 'catches' (starts to spin on its own) keeping it going requires a fine touch of throttle/no throttle that is more of a feeling than science. Once she's finally spinning it takes a little throttle to keep her at idle for a half minute or so before she can idle on her own. Damn I want fuel injection instead of these carbs!
