<x-charset iso-8859-1>Jim, Would this be obvious if I did indeed put it in wrong? What I mean is that when I turn the engine to set the timing the rotor turns etc. If it was not seated correctly would I be able to do this? And if this is the case, can I do what you suggested in any firing position? Thanks alot, Jim, I'm really trying to avoid giving up and taking it to the shop. I have been at this everyday for a week and a half appreciate your help. My guess is that you didn't get the dist fully seated in the engine and the drive dog is not fully engaged in the drive gear slot. You have to push down on the dist while you rotate the shaft by the rotor and then feel it drop down into the slot. Once it is properly installed you should not be able to rotate the rotor more than about 30 degrees in the CW direction and none in the CCW direction. - Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org </x-charset>
