When browsing the www.rebornparts.com site (that's a whole other thread) I found this factoid: "Squarebacks are the #2 best selling VW (US market) of all time.

I figure they have to mean air cooled, right? I thought the A2 ('85-'92? Golf/Jetta) was the 2nd best selling VW ever.
So we know how many T3's were built, how many made it to the U.S.? I am also curious how many remain, roadworthy or otherwise.
