Hey Bryan, With the ignition key on but the car not running press your gas pedal, you should hear a series of clicks coming from your fuel injectors i think 14 or something like that. Do you hear them? This will tell you if your throttle position sensor is working. I am fairly sure that the throttle switch sends a signal to the ecu telling the fuel injection that the car is at idle, if it is not sending the info to the ecu it could cause idle problems. It also adjusts the fuel mixture as you press the gas pedal. I talked to a guy who had a 914 and he found that the throttle switch was worn right where the car usually cruises at around 55 to 65,(or 75 to 90 for Toby and Leon and sometimes Russ: ) and it was causing the car to buck just as you described. I would check all the things that Jim told you to check but this is such a quick test it would be worth a try. later, jesse 71 fi squareback Bryan Mitchell wrote: > So now it runs good , minus the slight bogging at > first acceleration , and the slight bucking at crusing > speed and the funky idle at stop.
