Hello all, Well I thought I had had my 71 square all fixed and wonderful, I had went through every thing on the FI , replaced intake boots and the head gaskets, the whole deal. And it ran great, Just wonderful, minus the slight bogging feeling when you were at high speeds and accelerated. However the other day it started idling rough and would stall out and not start again. This is real annoying when at a light during morning traffic. Any ways through trial and error i determined it was the fuel pump. I put one of my replacements on to find that the problem was fixed, no more stalling , ran good. Only a new problem was found, The spare pump leaked gas like crazy , from the casing. Bad Bad Bad. No vw shop in this town has t-3 parts , its like they are evil or some thing. They just laugh and say "Nahh , We throw those thing away , no one wants them,, Ha ha , Good luck". So I check my Local Import parts place that happens to have a but load of nos type 3 FI parts, And low and behold they have a spankin new Bosch still in the original package $500 fuel pump. Sooooo..... I buy it , I dont have much of a choice , But I talked them down to $300. Ouch!! none the less. So now it runs good , minus the slight bogging at first acceleration , and the slight bucking at crusing speed and the funky idle at stop. Any one have any ideas how to end my long torture???? I Will buy a Bottle of REBEL YELL , courtesy of former list member RJ Lathrow , for the person who can help me out =) Thanks, Bryan __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
